My story

Why I started, and why my prices are where they are.

Hi, I'm Britton. I'm a homeschooled teen who has loved technology for as long as I can remember. For a while, I mostly used it for video games. Then my mom challenged me to use what I was learning to help people and maybe start a real business someday.

So I started learning to code. Before long I was updating websites for family members whose sites looked like they were built twenty years ago. Seeing their faces when their business finally looked modern and easy to use is what made me want to do this for more small business owners.

You may notice my prices are lower than other web designers'. That's not because my work isn't good. It's because I'm still building my business, and my mom, who runs her own business, Fort Worth Lactation, says I need to earn a track record before I charge what established designers charge. She compares it to my sisters. When they started babysitting, they earned $8 an hour, while some friends were charging $15 or $20. Mom told them to work hard and become excellent babysitters first. She remembers babysitting five kids while also doing the laundry, dishes, and cleaning, all for $3 an hour, back in the "olden" days. She says a fair price comes after proving your value.

So here's my promise: I'll build you a site you're proud to show your customers, I'll listen to what your business needs, and I'll keep improving it until it fits you. Your success is what turns this into a real business for me.

What I build

Simple, professional websites for small businesses that need an online presence. Every project starts with your design and your needs.

🌱

Your first website

For businesses that don't have a website yet. Get found online, look professional, and give customers a way to reach you.

🏢

Business websites

Multi-page sites with services, about, photos, and contact info that work well on phones.

🧭

Landing pages

A focused page to promote one service, offer, or event, with a clear call to action.

🛠️

Website refresh

Update an old, outdated site so it looks modern, loads faster, and works on mobile.

Starting estimates. Every project gets a firm quote after I review your request. Payment can be sent via Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal (to my mom).

  • Scoped to your needs
  • Larger multi-page sites

Domain & hosting

Your website needs two things to be online: a domain name (like yourbusiness.com) and hosting. Your website price does not include them.

Get your own

You can buy a domain and hosting yourself, and the accounts stay in your name.

See the domain setup guide →

Why you should own it

Your domain and hosting accounts should be in your name. That way you control your website, can change providers anytime, and keep your site online even if you stop working with me. Payment for both is made directly to the companies, never to me.

Handover

When your site is finished, I'll hand it over with the hosting and domain set up in your name, plus a short walkthrough so you know how to use it.

Domain setup guide

Follow these steps once you've decided to move forward. Each step takes just a few minutes.

Step 1. Pick and buy your domain. Go to GoDaddy or IONOS, search for the name you want (like yourbusiness.com), and buy it in your own account. You'll pay the company directly.

Step 2. Create a free Cloudflare account. Sign up at cloudflare.com using your business email. This is where your website will be hosted, and it stays in your name.

Step 3. Invite me to your Cloudflare account. In Cloudflare, go to Manage Account, then Members, and invite buildwithbritton@gmail.com with administrator access. You can remove me at any time.

Step 4. Send me your domain name. Email me the domain you bought and I'll reply with the exact settings to add at GoDaddy or IONOS. You'll paste them in yourself, so you never share your registrar login with me.

Step 5. We launch. Once the settings are added, I connect your site to your domain, check it on phones and computers, and hand it over.

What you get delivered

A finished website is not the same as a live website. Here's exactly what you receive, and what has to be set up before it's online.

What you receive

  • A finished website with your text, photos, and logo
  • A design checked on phones and computers
  • A contact form, once it's connected to a form service
  • A short walkthrough of how to make basic updates
  • Your site files, so you own your website

What has to be set up

  • A domain name, which you buy (about $10 to $20 a year for a .com)
  • A free hosting account to keep the site online
  • A free form service account so the contact form sends messages to you
  • Connecting your domain to your hosting (you can do this yourself, or I can do it for an additional fee)

What you provide

  • Your business information, services, and prices
  • Photos and your logo, if you have them
  • Your preferred contact details
  • Feedback during revisions

Important: your site isn't live until the domain and hosting are connected, and the contact form won't send messages until the form service is connected. You can do those steps yourself or hire me to do them for an additional fee. Either way, the accounts must stay active and in your name for the site to keep working.

How this all works

Here's what happens from your request to a live website.

1. You send a request. Fill out the form with as much about your business as you can. The more I know, the better your first draft will be.

2. I review it and draft your site. I build a first version based on your request before we talk, so you can see what it could look like.

3. We meet. We go over the draft on a Google Meet, and I ask questions and make notes on changes.

4. You get a firm quote. Once you agree, you pay the quote through Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.

5. We revise. Your package includes the revision rounds listed in your quote, and we refine the site until it fits your business.

6. You get your domain and hosting. You buy a domain name and sign up for free hosting, so your site has its own address and stays online. Both accounts stay in your name. I can help with setup for an additional fee.

7. We connect a contact form. Your contact form is connected to a form service so customer messages reach you. The form service account stays in your name too.

8. We launch. I publish your site, check it on phones and computers, and walk you through how to use it.

Why my prices are lower than agencies

Some agencies quote $2,000 or more for a basic website. Those prices usually cover larger teams, project managers, long contracts, ongoing support packages, and custom code for big feature lists. Those things are valuable for some businesses, but many small businesses only need a clear, professional website that's easy to find and easy to contact them through.

My prices are lower because the scope is smaller and focused on small businesses. I'm building my track record, so I keep the process simple and the quote clear. If you need something bigger later, we can talk about a custom quote.

Request a website

The more detail you give, the more accurate the quote. Only the required fields are mandatory.

2. The project
3. Design
Pick your main and accent colors, or leave the defaults.
I'll ask for the actual files after I review your request.
4. Timeline & budget

Terms

Plain-language terms for every project. Please read these before you submit a request or pay.

1. Quotes and scope. Starting prices are estimates. I will send a firm quote after reviewing your request. The quote describes the pages, features, and revisions included.

2. Payment. Payment can be sent via Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal, to my mom. Work begins after the quote is accepted and payment is received.

3. Revisions. The Standard includes 2 revisions after initial review. The Premium includes 4 revisions after initial review. Custom projects get a custom quote that lists the revisions included. Changes beyond those are handled through an update package.

4. Sales are final. Once a website has been delivered and paid for, all sales are final and no refunds are given.

5. Updates. I do not currently offer ongoing monthly upkeep. Updates are available through a separate update package, priced based on what you need.

6. Your content. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to any logos, photos, text, or other content you give me.

7. Domains and hosting. Domain names and hosting are not included in website prices. They are paid for separately, and they must stay active for your site to stay online. I can help you set them up for an additional fee, quoted separately. Domain and hosting accounts should be in your name.

8. Handover. When your site is finished and paid for, I'll hand it over with the accounts set up in your name, along with the files and a short walkthrough.

9. Results. I build websites to the best of my ability, but I cannot guarantee specific results such as more customers or sales.

10. Questions. If you have questions about these terms, contact me before you pay.
